Introduction
SESSION 1 (9.00-10.45)
• Soil nailing: design concept, applications and limitations.
• Design methods: design basis and models, design parameter selection and basis.
• Scope of design: internal and external stability & FOS, nail length, nail head, facing, grout, mix, FOS against sliding, overturning, bearing, local and global stability. Mitigations against what can go wrong at site, etc.

SESSION 2 (11.00-13.00)
• Works specification with particular reference to method statement, scope of design validation and QC for drilling, reinforcement protection and inserting, grouting, guniting, etc Acceptance criteria of QC test/ measurement/ observations, etc.

SESSION 3 (14.00-15.30)
• Pull-out test: planning, layout and procedure, result interpretations, etc.
• Case histories illustrating common pitfalls for pull-out test and interpretation.
• Instrumentation: objectives, scope, methods and interpretation.

SESSION 4 (15.45-17.00)
• Design and construction case histories illustrating interpretation of SI results and selection of design parameter, analysis methods plus common types of site construction problems, etc.
• Details of remedies or repair or rectification are included.

Biodata : Ir. Neoh has been a Vice Chairman of IEM (2004-2006), Chairman of Technical Committee on Geotechnics (TC5)of Road Association of Malaysia (1997-2006) and Chairman of IEM Geotechnical Technical Division (1996-1998),etc.

He joined JKR Malaysia for 25 years after graduated from UM in 1974. He joined IKRAM Runding Sdn Bhd as Director from 1999 to 2000. Since 2001, he is the Director of E-GEO Consultant Sdn Bhd.

He has published more than 50 technical papers about geotechnical and road engineering in various local & international conferences/seminars/journal.

He is a registered BEM Accredited Independent Checker (Geotechnical).
