Introduction
Construction in some parts of the world requires little or minimum paper work. In other countries, contracts or managing it can be a headache for construction personnel and managers. In the case of Malaysia, many forms of contracts are used and this can be a little difficult for some to grasp. Knowing the basics of managing construction contracts can be an advantage to many construction manager and key site personnel. The above course has been designed to cover a wide range of topics that can make contract management a key to the successful implementation of construction projects. The speakers have been resource persons in similar courses conducted by the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB).

Qualification : • PhD degree from the Oxford Brookes University.
• M.Eng.Sc from Department of Civil Engineering, University of Malaya.
Strength : • Specializing in Value Engineering/Value Management and Innovation methodologies.
• Published numerous articles in international journals and conferences.
Current job : • Visiting lecturer to the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of Malaya.
Biodata : • Dr. Mohammed Ali Berawi is currently a visiting lecturer to the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of Malaya. Before joining the faculty, Dr. Mohammed Ali Berawi was appointed as a part time lecturer at Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Technology, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, United Kingdom (2003-2006) and a Project Manager (PM) for Hanjung Indonesia Co. Ltd, the subsidiaries company of Korean Heavy Industries (2000-2001).
• Dr. Mohammed Ali Berawi holds a PhD degree from the Oxford Brookes University specializing in Value Engineering/Value Management and Innovation methodologies and M.Eng.Sc from Department of Civil Engineering, University of Malaya. He has published numerous articles in international journals and conferences.
 
Qualification : PhD degree from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST, UK)
M.Sc. from University of Florida

Current job : Dean Faculty of the Build Environment, University of Malaya
Biodata : Professor Dr.Hamzah Abdul Rahman is currently the dean of the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of Malaya. Before joining the faculty, he was attached with the Civil Engineering Department, of the same university. He has served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Malaya for Development and Estate Management who in charge of development policies and construction projects in UM from 1996 to 2003.

He has published many articles in international journal, conference and seminar.

He is the editor of quite a number of books and the latest book edited by him is "Challenges and Opportunity in International Construction".

Professor Dr.Hamzah Abdul Rahman is a very friendly person and likes to share his wide experience and knowledge with others.

• MSc in maintenance management from the University of Reading (UK).
• Chartered Quantity Surveyor and member of the Royal Institution of Chartered.
• President of Institution of Surveyors Malaysia. (1994-1995)
Strength : • Experience in government and public construction projects in Malaysia is more than 20 years.
Current job : • Director of Basar + Harun Co.Ltd.
Biodata : • Tn. Hj. Basar Juraimi is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and member of the Royal Institution of Chartered. He was appointed as President of Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (1994-1995).
• He holds a B.Sc. in building economics from South Bank University (UK) and a MSc in maintenance management from the University of Reading (UK).
• Currently he is the Director of Basar + Harun Co.Ltd and a member of Association of Malaysian Entrepreneur.
• His experience in government and public construction projects in Malaysia is more than 20 years.

• Visiting professor at University of Malaya.
• Currently as professor in Knowledge Management at the Multimedia University, Malaysia.
Strength : • Has 30 years experience in project and construction management across US, UK and South East Asia.

Current job : • Knowledge Management at the Multimedia University, Malaysia.
Biodata : • Professor Dr. Peter C Woods was appointed as Director of undergraduate program at University of Manchester (1991-1995), visiting professor at University of Malaya, and currently as professor in Knowledge Management at the Multimedia University, Malaysia.
